A late start to planting. May 18th first day to plant corn. Soybeans were then done around May 26th. Business with the truck has been super! Three companies are now in contact with us and see the need for more trucks and trailers. Looking for a driver and a possibility of another.
Every where I look I see 'Now hiring' signs and demand for production for products are up in most every segment. Which means more loads for the transportation industry that already moves 70 percent of freight with about 1.6 million drivers. It's not so much a truck driver shortage as it is finding qualified drivers. Also the turnover rate in some companies is over 100%. Local or long haul? There is demand for both in ag commodities and other commerce.
